So wondering if anyone can offer advice.
I have worked in banking for 15 years initially the investment side then I moved to Credit Risk about 5 years ago.
I became CeMAP qualified 2 years ago but as I work on the risk side rather than customer facing / advice I do not have Competent Advisor Status (CAS)
At the moment I literally hate my job it is causing me all sorts of stress and whilst I am in this role I am tied to living / working in London which is not great when trying to live on a budget. Is there any way I can get CAS other than through direct employment as I am trying to find a way of doing it so my current employer is not aware

Not unless you know someone who owns a directly authorised firm and is happy to forgo an employers reference.
As you probably know this industry is heavily regulated and the guidance set out by the FCA are quite thorough.
Also being an advisor can be stressful, I finish the day with the weight of 5-10 peoples mortgages on my shoulders at times.I am a Mortgage AdviserYou should note that this site doesn't check my status as a mortgage adviser, so you need to take my word for it. This signature is here as I follow MSE's Mortgage Adviser Code of Conduct. Any posts on here are for information and discussion purposes only and shouldn't be seen as financial advice.0 -
