Savings Rates v Mortgage Interest Rates-help?

I'm about to offset my savings against my mortgage but have been told that I may come unstuck as some Savings Rates are now higher than Mortgage Rates

This might be a mad question but how would my offset mortgage be affected?

I am offsetting 36k against my mortgage of 36k and I will make no monthly repayments as it's interest only. (The equivalent amount I would have paid into the mortgage will go into some form of savings account - I've used my Isa allowance this year but will find a top interest payer).

I receive no interest on the savings and pay no interest on my mortgage but have piece of mind that I can access the 36k at any point. I can also pay off the mortgage at any point that I feel comfortable.

I am confused about comments on Interest Rates and it being better to save than pay or offset your mortgage. Does what I'm doing make sense?

Any comments appreciated (I'm still confused even though I've posted before so sorry for boring anyone if I've repeated myself).
