6 year Anniversary Come & Gone but Bankruptcy Still on my Credit File

Hi,
Monday of this week saw the end of a long , stressful, shameful 6 years for my husband & I.
We were both declared bankrupt on 10/12/2012 , discharged a year later.
This morning I have checked our credit files & my husbands is now as clean a a whistle but mine is still through the floor & my bankruptcy is still showing as a negative factor.
Can anyone shed any light on why his has dropped off but mine is still firmly in place.
It’s was a joint bankruptcy as such with us both having equal debt , the same 1 creditor (HMRC) , the same judge, joint appointments with the insolvency service etc.
I’m a bit baffled as to what I need to do now.
Thanks in Ada nice for any advice.

  • Do the debts included still show? Do they have default dates on? If they do what date is the default from?
  • No... no detail, just that I have a bankruptcy....

Are you checking your credit file directly with Experian, Equifax, Callcredit, or using a 3rd party one (noddle/clearscore etc).

  • Depending on what file you are using, the last update may have been BEFORE 10/12.

For example MSE updates monthly. If the last update was on the 9th, it'll still be visible to you until 9th January - however it will have dropped off your "actual" report (that lenders see if you were to apply for something today).

    Same with Clearscore.

Could message all 3 agencies to be sure though - I don't even think you'd need to give "proof" - it should be showing on credit file as registered 10/12/2012 and so they know it's expired by now and will manually remove without any antics.
