Hello everyone, thank you for your good wishes on the early Christmas delivery of my wee granddaughter. Mum and baby are still in hospital for observation, but all going well so far.
Candygirl, what a frightening experience for your mother. It's so fortunate she wasn't injured or worse.
Yesterday I had a Christmas lunch outing which was superb, and had a slump in a chair all afternoon before going to the last yoga class of the year in the evening.
Today I wrote Christmas cards and sent them off, plus two parcels. There were only four people ahead of me at the post office, changed days as I can remember queues out onto the pavement and lengthy waits.
Hester I hope you enjoyed your solo interlude while CHS was at his work Christmas lunch.
Tonight's meal will be a stir fry using what's left in the fridge. The new veg box gets delivered tomorrow.
A quiet evening knitting and reading lies ahead. Gers, that was good that you were able to rekindle the woodburner and keep cosy.
Wishing everyone a peaceful evening. xxx0 -
Evening all ( Dixon style
)
Apologies for being late but I'll start my 100 lines in a moment :rotfl:
We had a busy day starting with a visit to the meat van, then the surgery, the local shop for the stamps, looked for a postbox ( I'm sure there were more boxes last year, because the one I have used before has disappeared) and ended up in Aldis before coming home. We forgot that we still had two cards to put through local doors, so decided to walk. That was a bit of a mistake as we met one of Mr Fix It's cousins and we chatted away for over an hour .
This afternoon we brought the new day bed down into the house and fitted the mattress. We will recover it either tonight, if I can prise Mr Fix it off the Xbox as he's playing with the DGS, or tomorrow. I must say he's done a fantastic job, but don't tell him that :shhh: as I need to keep him on his toes ready for my next project :rotfl:.
Right I shall put my feet up with a cuppa ( do my lines) and then I think I shall treat myself to a nice relaxing bubble bath.
Candygirl I'm glad your DM is ok, a bit shook up I expect, but it's a shame about the car.
Sending love and hugs to all.
Take care

Good evening chums, busy day today rushing around as usual, got home to several letters one of which was a nice cheque from my late OH's lodge as a Christmas present which they send every year, put a smile on my face which disappeared when I opened the next envelope which contained a tax demand from HMRC which has wiped out my Christmas present :( Hardly worth getting a pension rise in April, when they take it back in December.
Hopefully it will help pay for our glorious politicians wages which are a darned sight higher than my pension by a pretty big margin. So a bit more belt tightening is on the cards for the New Year ,at least they don't need paying until March
Tomorrow I am off to Hertfordshire to pick up my DGS Jack and his dirty washing from Uni as he will be home for the Christmas break
Watching the news from Westminster at the moment ,goodness knows what will happen in our green and pleasant land with all the in-fighting
Still at least I am warm and dry and tucked up indoors, and the tree lights are on and it looks quite cosy.
Have a good evening chums

Hi everyone. Just home had to take my stepdaughters Christmas money to her after work. Had a naughty takeaway on the way home.
Still no tree up and I’m tired tonight so think I will wait till the weekend. I’m working in another shop tomorrow to help out. It’s about an hour away from where I live but I get petrol money and best of all my mum lives in the village where the shop is so I can go to hers for dinner after.
Hope everyone is all ok and enjoy the rest of your evenings.0 -
