Should I go to this interview?

Hi
I am currently in a fixed term contract due to end next year, but I am trying to get out of my current sector, I find it terribly dull.
Is it worth me applying for jobs in the same sector for more pay as that is all the agencies want me to do? A part of me thinks I may as well do the same job for more money and permanent, but really I want to get out completely, though I am having trouble right now.
As it is, I am not succeeding in interviews for other industries as experience seems to be so key these days.
Thanks

They want the fees, and the higher your salary the higher the fees, so of course they will push you towards jobs you would be a shoo in for at a higher salary

My personal view is try to get into the field you want, rather than have short term jobs on your CV. Experience is key, so look at how you can adapt the experience you have to fit the role you want.“I could see that, if not actually disgruntled, he was far from being gruntled.” - P.G. Wodehouse0 -

Are you applying for the same role with similar skills in different industries? If so, I agree this can be hard. It might be easier if you told us what your role and industry is?
In my experience, job satisfaction often depends more on the company and the role than the industry. I work in banking, of all things, doesn't interest me at all if I'm brutally honest but actually I love my job anyway.
On the other hand if you are applying for different roles that need different skills - well that's more difficult and depends on your career stage, age and the people hiring (even if you are trying to 'start at the bottom' it's still difficult!)0 -
If you want out totally, it’s about deciding what you want to do next. I’m in a similar situation to you, I’m looking at other areas and sectors - look into changing your cv, tailor to the job your going for and focus on highlighting your transferable skills.0

Worth it for whom - you or the agencies? if you are serious about changing career, get on and take positive steps. Googling on 'career change' is a good start - lots of helpful links and suggestions.0
