RT for the forthcoming week has a £50 John Lewis gift voucher if you are a new subscriber (see back page of the insert on 'best box sets' in the centre of RT).
Googling on your question might have been both quicker and easier, if you're only after simple facts rather than opinions!

Attachment inside Christmas issue gives this offer
12 issues for £1 and then £29.99 every 6 months. Direct Debit.

    buysubscriptions.com/RTG5218 or call 03330162128 quoting RTG5218

Just a word of warning - I tried for this offer and got refused because I had benefited from a previous offer. I had been a subscriber for 2 years and had cancelled in April this year. Apparently you now have to wait 12 months before you can take up another introductory offer.

Just worked for me and I cancelled my last subscription in June 2018.

Or, do they refuse after initially accepting you?

There are two emails after the initial purchase. The first one’s automated and is just an acknowledgment, arriving soon after purchase. The one that counts is the confirmation, and it’s at that point that you find out whether you’ve been accepted or rejected.
