If you received Child Benefit during a certain set of years, it would have given you NI credits.

Also, check whether you will benefit from paying for pre-2016 years, as you retire after that date.
Sometimes you may get limited benefit doing that if you retire after 2016.0 -
Also if looking after grandchildren it may be possible to get pension credits rather than paying.0
