Hi,
I recently found a new job and gave my employment a resignation letter to leave.
I am on a zero hour contract or what they call in now is a "key time worker".
Since handing my notice i have been receiving awful behavior towards me its got the point that i am feeling down and stressed and thinking what the hell have i done.
i have refused to go back and revoked the letter and done a new letter to take immediate affect. I have also spoken to HR department who will address the matter.
I am a hard worker who always gives 110% i have had some amazing times driving some amazing cars and meeting some good people some who are good friends but to be treated like that after some time with the company makes me feel sick inside.

If it's zero hour, then you don't need to give notice...0 -
Well, with a zero hour contract notice is meaningless as you have a right to refuse any work that is offered. So, by giving notice and presumably still working as normal during the notice period you have done them a favour.
If they don't appreciate it then exercise your right to decline further work.
Obviously you need to be a little cautious if you want to use them as a reference.....0 -
thank you for your replies. HR called me and said would accept my letter to leave and will pay me upto the date i worked.
They still want me to give further details to how i have been treated.
When i was offered hours in the past they would say things like if you don't do it theres the door. so when zero hours have a advantage for you it don't seem fair if you do say no as they dont like it.
i gave notice coz i thought would leave on good terms obviously you live and learn for future referrence.
merry xmas to all0 -
Even if they do give reference by law you have to give a good one0

No, it has to be truthful. Someone who was caught stealing from their employer and was sacked for gross misconduct could hardly expect a good reference, could they?0 -
ahhhhhh yes my mistake :rotfl:0
