colour B4

has anyone used this and had problems, I have been fighting with h manucafcurers for nearly a year. I followed the instructions to the letter did a patch, and srand test, my hair which was fine, greasy, never needed to use conditioner, was like a ball of wire wool, I couldnt even get a de tangle combe thru it, luckily there is a hairdressers a few minutes walk from home, I went there with my soaking wet mat, the lady who has done my hair several times aid it was chemically burnt, I had to have it cut off.The kjeep moving the goal posts, told me no-one else has ever had problems, I found several reviews on Amazon from people who had damaged hair/scalps, one ladies hair actually fell out while she was using it, but as I didnt buy the product on Amazon I cannot get in touch with them. I also had scalp problems, and burning eyes from the fumes. it has cost me several years hair growth, a lot of money in specialist products to soften and strengthen my hair. My daughter contacted their CEO Chris on a social media site, he said he couldnt (wouldnt ) talk to her on an open site, so I have e-mailed twice and not even received a reply. They just told me to go to my GP!

Sorry you have to experience this.

I have used Color B4 for ombre (as I have naturally dark hair, oily scalp but dry damage ends). I haven't had problems, it removes the red tone greatly.

How long did you used it for? what was the colour before? Even though sometimes they say leave it for X amount of time on the instruction, you should always check how it's actually doing on your hair. If it's gone too light or for over too long, then ditch instruction and rinse it!

You'd need to massively condition afterwards with a hair mask or Bleach London Reincarnation Conditioner is really good.
  • There are many variables at play - whether you'd used vegetable based dyes (the semi permanents), for example, as they contain metallic compounds as part of the vegetable itself; put those with 'chemical' based, permanent tints or bleaches/colour strippers and they set off a chemical reaction which generates heat - and your hair melts.

It's the same reason why permanent dye boxes say you mustn't use them on hair that has been treated with vegetable dyes or henna and must always do a strand test before applying to your whole head - it's not a patch test for allergies, that's a different test. Doing both is the only way to be sure that you aren't going to suffer like that.

As there's a possibility that you've become sensitive to the chemicals, going by your mention of scalp problems, I think you need to keep all tinting/lightening/colour stripping to professionals from now on - that isn't the fault of the product, but something that happens to enough people for the warnings to be clear on all boxes and instruction leaflets.
I could dream to wide extremes, I could do or die: I could yawn and be withdrawn and watch the world go by.
