Selling Art?

Hi all,
I have a rare, boxed hardback book and limited edition print by an artist called Doug Hyde.
The work comes in its own box and has a certificate of authenticity enclosed which says it is print number 22 of 495. It is in mint condition.
However, I have no room for it (it's large and heavy!) and truth be told, I could do with some extra cash, so I want to sell it to an art collector or at least someone who will appreciate it more than I will.
So far, internet searches have thrown up nothing particularly useful to me - the collection is not on Amazon or eBay and the art dealer websites which I have consulted are all showing it as out of stock, so i am unable to even find a selling price and all the dealers I have contacted have told me that they do not buy art from customers, they only sell.
What I want to know is, does anyone know of anywhere that I could sell this collection? Somewhere such as a specialist art marketplace/auction house? (based either online or in the real world).
I would very much appreciate any help with this. Thanks in advance.

You need to find your closest proper Auction House.
Whereabouts in the country do you live?If you go down to the woods today you better not go alone.0 -
Any decent auction house will do it. They're all on the internet these days, so you're no longer just reliant on local bidders. Your collection is only worth what someone is prepared to pay for it, so even if you could find previous second-hand selling prices there's no guarantee yours would go for the same amount. No longer a spouse, or trailing, but MSE won't allow me to change my username...0

There are hundreds of limited Doug Hyde prints on eBay and sold prices there seem to go for anything from £50 to £400 from what I can see.
You can search for completed items on there and look to see if your print/book edition is listed or has sold on there before. That may give you a ballpark price at least.1 -
Putting "Doug Hyde book" into Google brings up a limited edition DH book and print but may not be the one you haveIf you are querying your Council Tax band would you please state whether you are in England, Scotland or Wales0
