Holiday pay

Hi guys, I have a question regarding my contracted holiday entitlement.
So my contract is worded that I will accrue holiday based on the average number of hours/days worked over the previous 17 weeks. I work on a 4 on 4 off shift pattern but I do a lot of overtime. My calculations is I accrued 3.2 days holiday above my statutory entitlement due to overtime worked. When I requested this from my employer I was told that I have accrued extra monies due to overtime worked and as such will receive an extra 20p per hour for each holiday day taken in November and December (3days of 12 hours) now for me this is nowhere near what I accrued and on top of that holiday is for rest and relaxation away from the workplace. Can they legally do this? I can’t find any examples online.
Thankyou

Are you sure it says you will accrue HOLIDAY (that is time) based on the average number of hours/days worked or be PAID (the amount of money) based on the average you were paid over those 17 weeks?0
