I used to, but now I'm getting old and haggard, I presumably don't fit the profile for a Meth Lab Cook. The conversation, if they do the full one, usually follows this script (I'm being friendly and polite & not a git when I'm actually giving my answers, it's not their fault they have to ask);
Have you had these ---?
Yep.
Could you tell me----?
Had a cold, now got dark circles under my eyes that look like I've been punched and I feel like I've been hit in the face with a baseball bat.
Are you---?
No, I'm not taking any other medication
Do you have----?
I'm allergic to penicillin and sulfonamides.
Have you considered---?
No, they're too expensive when combined with paracetamol and caffeine. I'd rather take these with a paracetamol and a cup of coffee, thank you.
Is there a poss---
There is NO way I'm pregnant. [don't often get asked that one these days. Probably because the way I look when I'm trying to buy the decongestants means that I'm both too old and too ugly to get up the duff]
Usually, the conversation stops at the baseball bat point and they happily hand over the maximum supply without further ado.I could dream to wide extremes, I could do or die: I could yawn and be withdrawn and watch the world go by.Yup you are officially Rock n Roll0 -

LOL I'm very familiar with this conversation, except I delight at this point in telling them phenylephrine doesn't actually work.0 -

I used to do that one, too. But the local shops are used to me now, so I don't have to say 'Not phelylephrine, as that hasn't ever been proven to work better than placebo in clinical trials and certainly doesn't work on me'.I could dream to wide extremes, I could do or die: I could yawn and be withdrawn and watch the world go by.Yup you are officially Rock n Roll0 -

I made a throwaway comment like that at work the other day and 3 kids jumped in with 'but you're not old and you're really pretty, Miss!'. My (considerably younger) boss said something similar today - not a word from the kids. :rotfl:
Although I suppose that could mean you see me as a balding man in underpants... :cool:I could dream to wide extremes, I could do or die: I could yawn and be withdrawn and watch the world go by.Yup you are officially Rock n Roll0
