Dismissed from work/maternity pay

Hi
I have been on maternity leave 3 months and my employer is paying my smp plus topping it up, my new manager is trying to say I have stole from work for something I purchased over a year ago and I know longer have the receipts. If I get sacked will they still have to pay my SMP. I’ve been with the company over 2 years

The OP allegedly stole items from their employer; and has admitted to being in breach of their contract. How on earth does that get to a "bad manager"? Whether they "deserve" to be sacked or not, there is not a shred of evidence that the manager is "bad". But then, you don't actually need facts to post your rubbish, do you?
