Hi everyone.
I’m looking for sum advice About gambling debt and bankruptcy.
Half of my debts are due to a gambling problem I had recently I’m now getting help with the impulse to gamble but unfortunately it’s left me in the black and I’m struggling to make all my payments iv bean advised bankruptcy is the best option as I have no real assets but iv also bean told that my gambling debt won’t be included in my bankruptcy.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated
Thanks Megan

if going bankrupt, you need to be honest about debts - you may need to accept a BRU (Bankruptcy Restriction undertaking). but yes, the debt will be included regardless
what is the level of debt? a DRO may be better suited if debt under £20k
have you spoken to Stepchange, Nationaldebtline or Payplan? all good organisations that will be able to assist you in what decision is best0 -
