E: 20/12 Win a D.H. Lawrence inspired break for four (Comment)
Visit Nottinghamshire https://www.visit-nottinghamshire.co.uk/whats-on/christmas/win-a-break-in-nottingham-this-christmas/win-a-d-h-lawrence-inspired-break-for-four
This Christmas we want you and three friends/family members to walk in the footsteps of one of Nottinghamshire’s most famous rebels, D.H. Lawrence, known for his bravery, thinking outside the box, and creativity beyond his time.
See Eastwood through the eyes of D.H. Lawrence – who hailed from Eastwood, Nottinghamshire – responsible for a range of hugely successful titles such as Lady Chatterley’s Lover, Sons and Lovers and The Rainbow to name just a few.
Stay at the beautiful Eastwood Hall, located in Lawrence’s historic home town. Set in 26 acres of spectacular grounds, you’re free to enjoy the tranquillity of hotel’s surroundings.
Just a stone’s throw from Eastwood Hall, explore the D.H. Lawrence Birthplace Museum on your very own private, guided tour. You’ll learn all about Lawrence himself, and his life before and after he became a world-famous author.
Next, you’ll discover the secrets of one of Nottingham’s most charming libraries founded in 1816 – the Bromley House Library – on a private tour. Take in the tranquillity of this Grade II listed Georgian townhouse and a beautiful walled garden – and hear stories about D.H. Lawrence.
To finish up your experience, savour delicious dishes served in the historical Malt Cross – a Victorian music hall built in 1877 and the only one in the country that operates as its original design intended. Legend says that D.H. Lawrence himself used to visit it during his time in Nottingham, so when you sit down at your table you may be sitting at his favourite spot.
To enter this fab competition, all you have to do is fill out the form below. In the 'Answer' box, tell us how you push the boundaries.
This competition closes on Thursday 20 December 2018.
T&Cs: Please note:
- D.H. Lawrence Birthplace Museum tickets can be redeemed from February 2019 onwards and must be used only during normal museum opening times.
- Stay at Eastwood Hall includes a one-night stay for four people and is subject to availability.
- Bromley House Library tour can be redeemed only during normal library opening times.
- The meal at Malt Cross will consist of four main meals and four house drinks/soft drinks.
