  • I have just seen this thread but I am not sure what to do so I need to ask some questions.

Is it feasable to go to Dublin just for the day to do some shopping, if so how far is it from the airport to the centre?

I have just tried some dates and can get the 1p ones but how much will they charge for using a credit card as we get free insurance, or is Switch cheaper to use?

I'm going to dublin for the day next sat, to see some friends.

takes about 30 mins on the bus into the city center.

but remember if your going shopping, you can't get back on the plane with loads of bags, you will be charged.

what i do is take a carrier bag, with a sports bag folded up inside, and my handbag in this.

then when i return, i put any shopping that i buy in my holdall, and carry it on.

  • Ive got the reg fare at 1p In January,I will arrange my own insurance and online check-in-this saves money. Only carrying flight bags so total bill for two people came to 4p. Now I need to measure the flightbags! I will have to travel very light for this one but have booked a thurs to mon holiday so if I find a good hotel I wont need much! It CAN be done-I tell myself!

Yes-go for the day is fine but just take an empty flight bag with you for shopping or you will pay a lot of money. Up to 10kg allowed so you need to get the contents weighed carefully before you get to the airport! If a camera/money etc-use a bum bag also. Wear your coat etc-not put it in your bag. Read all of the above posts-they explain it well.

    Hi
Sure-the ones which look good are on the ryanaire site. Some of the hostels are excellent depending how many of you want to go. Ive never done this before so I have to read everything 10 times!!! There are a couple which look good-http://www.hostelworld.com/ryanair/findabed.php?ChosenCity=Dublin&ChosenCountry=Ireland
    Jacobs Inn sounds nice
    http://uk.wwte4.com/pub/agent.dll?qscr=htwv&from=m&rfrr=-52553&eapid=169-30004 the Quality hotels also
All depends on your dates.Ive not booked yet-I booked the flight-now hubby has to get the time off work so I can take my daughter and he can stay home with the other two kids.
Decided to get the flight at this price and if it all fell apart-well-only lost 4p!
Go to ryanair.com and follow the hotel links or the hostel links as mine may not work. There is a great deal on hotels-you name the price and its booked for you-looked good if you are on a tight budget and willing to take potluck.
    this is it!
