Hi,
I am looking for the cheapest way of getting to Brading on the Isle of Wight on Friday 7th December.
I need to get there at 9am and come back mid afternoon,
Many thanks
James

What have you found so far?
It would be a shame for others to spend time on a solution to be told "Yes I found that. Anything better?"0 -
Have you tried thetrainline.com website? (Remembering to click the extra box to show cheaper/less direct routes.)0

When I last bought tickets to the IOW the cheapest tickets was the route via hovercraft.
However I had to select via Ryde Hoverport to get them shown up on some ticket sites.0 -
I could not find a return to Brading, so it was a return to Ryde was £27.000

Pricing it all separately I get it to just under £23 if my mental maths is correct.
Can’t get the train site to give me a price to or from Brading at all, let alone including the Cat from Pompey! Didn’t check via the hovercraft as that would add at least 15 mins to journey, and you’ve gotta be there early enough as it is! It's odd that Brading isn't accepted as a destination from the mainland. From trying a few stations on the island only Ryde seems to work.0

Will using the Stagecoach 700 Coastliner bus from Chi to The Hard reduce the cost?
A return ticket for that part is £8.00.0 -
Not a good Moneysaving tip - they charge booking fees for many journeys.
Buy tickets through the rail operator's website to avoid the fees.
Thats a good point if they do.
I suggested it more as a way of viewing all available fairs, I never know which operators cover which routes when travelling somewhere I'm unfamiliar with.0
