And your evidence for this statement is?All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.
Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.0 -
17. The Operator shall inform the Council in writing, and within 14 days of him / her having been:
Arrested;
Released on Police Bail
Reported for an offence
Summonsed for an offence
Charged with an offence
Convicted of an offence
Summonsed for an offence
Cautioned by a Police Officer
Received a County Court judgment;
The subject of any bankruptcy proceedings, individual voluntary arrangements and composition agreements with creditors.
So its on a par with a criminal offence
My County council will bar bankrupts/insolvents from the school tendering framework too

Hi,
If you are running an office - yes, but if you are simply a sole trader running out of an office (for which you pay a weekly / monthly fee to the office) - No.
Out of all the self employed sole trader professions, Taxi drivers are high up there with the most bankruptcies and DROs.

sadly each licensing area will decide your fate in every matter, they see BR's as not "fit and proper"0 -
There is a key word in there I think you... may... have overlooked.
I have not read through that whole document but from a brief scan it looks like it says "the council may terminate the contract"I am a Mortgage AdviserYou should note that this site doesn't check my status as a mortgage adviser, so you need to take my word for it. I asked the taxi licensing why CCJs and BR had to be reported..
"under the stipulation taxi drivers are "fit and proper" persons (to hold a badge"0 -
It’s not clear if you understand what people are telling you here; your original post is not factually correct, bankrupts still can become taxi drivers.
Even could they not, it’s not oppression. I can’t and won’t employ bankrupts but that is for sensible reasons. Going bankrupt is not a neutral act, people tend to have had to take liberties with others money. It is a serious road to go down, and says some very serious things about the person to whom it happens.0 -

And what about those of us who are in a 'chain reaction' to someone else who didn't pay their bills? Seriously mate - you need a reality check if you think every BR is responsible for their own downfall - wouldn't it be nice if the world was that simple. Obviously, you can employ who you like (and I know there are some jobs that are forever closed to ex-BR's) but you seem as ill-informed and/or misguided as you believe maxmycardigan is.0 -
Please follow the rules on this forum and not be judgemental.Farmer_Johnson wrote: »And you need to learn to read a bit more carefully, mate. I said tend, that explicitly means it only applies in some cases.
Stop being angry at the others, and the world, and try to understand that had you made different choices you would not have become bankrupt.
Life throws all manner of events at you, some of us make sure that even when the worst happens we can pay our debts, some of you don’t. Bankrupts tend to be in the second group, and I am not going to play along while you wallow in self pity.
Pick yourself up, learn from your mistakes, and hope you are never like Max, heading for doing it twice.
We are here to offer advice not to knock someone when you have no idea what happened to many of us on here who give support to others.0 -

A newbie...being judgemental...suggest you do some research...the forum guidelines are not to be judgementalI refer to my byline below ...
Ad hominem
An attack upon an opponent in order to discredit their arguement or opinion. Ad hominems are used by immature and/or unintelligent people because they are unable to counter their opponent using logic and intelligence.0
