We will also go to her bank in person to notify and ask advice prior to the transfer.
With this in mind would it be easier, in terms of these UK money laundering laws, to transfer the money across in values less than £10,000 ?
As a side question to the forum : when does capital gains tax come in to play? (given the answers so far, I guess this would not be classed as capital gains?)0 -
Transfer of money in smaller and regular amounts will still trigger the Money Laudering question. Talking to the bank is the obvious sensible thing to do as they also are bound by the rules.0
