Train delay repay - am I eligible

Hi

I was travelling on a Virgin train which arrived 20 minutes late to its destination. This meant that I missed my usual local train and had to wait 30 minutes until the next one arrived.

Now, although I arrived at my final destination half an hour late due to the delay of the Virgin train, I don't know if I can claim because:
  1. My second train wasn't from the same station but a walkable distance away (I just couldn't get there quick enough due to the delay)
  2. I purchased the second ticket at the station when I got there, i.e. I didn't have a single ticket for both legs of the journey.

Thanks for any help.
