P45 help! Week 1 Month 1

Hi all,
I am leaving my current job today, for many reasons, after 6 weeks and 3 days of being here. I am on the emergency tax code 1185L M1.
My tax code from my previous job was 1185L.
I received my P45 today, and my tax code is listed as 1185L, but the week 1 month 1 box is ticked.
When I move onto my new job come Tuesday, will giving them my most recent P45 (with week 1 month 1 ticked) be enough to get me off of emergency tax? Or will I need to give them both that P45 AND the one before it?
Any help appreciated, thank you!

Impossible to say.
After you start you can just phone HMRC up and they will amend your tax code. Whether this is in time for your first payroll run is not guaranteed. But any refund will then come in the next run.0 -
The M1 is a non cumulative tax code. It taxes you not taking in to account tax paid already or yourp ersonal allowance.
The ticked w1 m1 box is exactly the same.
You should give your employer the latest p45 however that will obviously be incorrect as its a non cumulative tax code. I cant iamginet heyll be able to enter information from more than one p45.
Youre almost certinaly going to end up on a w1 m1 tax code anyway. I think its going to be unlikely to be changed before your first pay run, id imagine HMRC would want confirmation from the employer that you are working for them before they issue you with anew tax code which they wouldnt get until after your first pay. Not sure on this though so worth trying.0 -

Just hand in the last P45 if you hand in both only the lastest will be used. HMRC will be advised and will send details of correct code plus pay and tax details. Phoning them as suggested may speed this up. You should also bear in mind that being on an emergency tax code does not always mean you are over-taxed depending on when your new employer pays compared to when your old employer paid it can result in you being under-taxed or correctly taxed.0
