Rounders England are ramping up their campaign to get Rounders reinstated to the list of assessed sports at GCSE/AS and A level and hope that you will lend your support.

Rounders was removed from the list of assessed sports a couple of years ago with no real consultation, and this has had a huge impact on Rounders in schools. Many schools are faced with the difficult decision of delivering just the one striking and fielding sport on the list – cricket; mainly due to limited resources and pressure for academic achievement. The absence of Rounders is particularly hard for girls who enjoy the tactical yet fun nature of the sport, and in the long term it will be harder for us to encourage women back to sport though Rounders, if they don’t experience it at school.
