Fairly sure that almost all my christmas presents are coming from charity shops and < £1, so if anyone doesn't like them they can re-donate them, and the charity benefits twice.

So from a poll of 2000 people they extrapolate the following up to 60,000,000?

According to the YouGov poll, 57% of those who celebrate Christmas receive at least one unwanted gift per year.

I know this kind of PR article is all about the Charity getting itself some free advertising and newspapers getting a free article but that aside its completely meaningless.

It was actually a poll of 'more than 2,000 people'...which is thus entirely useless in actually ascertaining how many people (the 57%) apparently received unwanted gifts last year....it could be 2001 or 200,001.

The survey results were weighted to be representative of all adults in Great Britain.

Course they were .. and obviously the charity paying for the survey is interpreting the results entirely impartially ...although as a suggestion perhaps we could all donate to 'Send a Cow' instead;)

60 million is "only" one present per person.

Most people receive at least ONE cr4p present....

    I'm receiving 0 presents. I'm giving 0 presents.

If I receive 1 present though .... you can bet your bottom dollar it's "unwanted".

Hand lotion and candles are my pet hates. Dislike both .... but they're some people's default "something cr4p to wrap".

I did wonder about one for someone I owe a present to, but am not that fond of :rotfl:

However I havent't seen any B&H in the chazzers for less than a quid, so I got them something nicer for less.
