NHS Employment

Hi - I am trying to find some information.

I started my current job in the NHS four years ago. Prior to this job, I took two weeks off between jobs. I've recently been informed by a colleague who was leaving that a break of longer than a week will affect my continuous service. Does anyone know exactly what a break of over a week between jobs in different trusts would effect?

Should this short break effect my annual leave? I would be due to get my ten years service (2 extra annual leave days) next year, or am I right in thinking all previous NHS service is taken into account for this.

I didn't join the pensions scheme until I came into this post, so it shouldn't effect this, and I negotiated my pay scale and signed contract coming into post.

Any help appreciated. Wanted to avoid ringing HR if there was nothing I should be worried about.

I'm struggling to work out the difference between reckonable service and continuous service.

Actually this is part of terms and conditions. Assume that you are on Agenda for Change? If so, then you have broken your service for the purposes of redundancy, but for annual leave it is classed as reckonable.
