Can I take lump sum now?

I have two very small annuities which have been paying for about 5 years. One provider recently offered a lump sum instead of the regular payments, with no further call on them. Can I ask the other provider to do this, or was this simply at their discretion?

Martin doesnt contribute on this site. It is left to a lot of regular posters to answer questions.
Can I ask you to repeat your post on a new thread (look at the pension threads and press "new thread". This will allow you to put your post into your own thread and allow people to answer your questions.
If we were to answer your questions on this thread, which belongs to snurse66 asking an unrelated question, it would take the conversation off topic and potentially leave snurse66 without replies. This is known as thread hijacking and is frowned upon. As a first time poster, you wouldnt necessarily know that.
You dont have to retype everything from scratch. You can copy your text and paste it into the new thread you have created.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). And Linda, you may want to ask to change your user name, if anything personal gets discussed you may want to preserve your anonymity.
Best wishes
