Tax back from being a student

Hi,

I was wondering if anyone can offer advice on this?

From 2007-2009 I was a student doing a course working in hospital. I worked 4 days a week and went to college 1 day a week. I was paid a salary, approx 14k per year for each year. After this I got a BTEC level 3 and NVQ level 3. Someone has recently said that they have claimed the tax they paid whilst being a student on the same course back?

I always thought even full time uni students had to pay tax if they earnt more than their annual allowance?

Please can anyone advise if this is possible to claim the tax back I paid whilst working and being a student?

Thanks

Danny
