Spot on Exiled Tyke. Smart meters can be used at properties with a PV system.
As I posted above just now, although smart meters have features relating to solar panels and home generation, we only use them for measuring imported electricity. We haven't developed smart software sufficiently yet to use them to measure electricity exported to the Grid.
This has been the case for quite a time now and, I'm afraid, I don't have a time frame for when I expect to see any significant changes to this particular situation.
