Before taking out any cashback deals please read the threads on the dedicated mobile phone boards. Many companies make claiming the cashback very difficult, if not impossible and it is best to read reviews about the companies before signing up to anything.

Everything explained in the source of your text ;)

Deal works by redemption - you have to pay the monthly line rental and then claim it back from M2YD in 4 stages. After 12 months, you'd have claimed back (provided you do ur bits) £420 which makes the offer 12 months free on 12 month contract. Dont forget the extra £45 cashback from Quidco, which is a profit :T

    what do you mean?
all it says to do is 'send your 6th, 8th, 10th and 12th monthly bills within 60 days of the date stated on the relevant airtime bill, to us and we will credit you by cheque with 25% of the total amount at each redemption period*

This will save you the stated amount over the 12 month duration of the contract.

*Approximately 25%, the combined total of all Four Cheques will be equal to the stated amount.

so i will do the above via recorded delivery
    would this be ok?
    thanks

I have looked into these for a second phone, they DO work with lots of happy customers, however it is very important to fully read the T&c's, if you dont play it by the book they can, and will not pay out, I am also awear it can be a nightmare to claim back of you move and change your address during the 12 or 18 month plan.

There are lots of these cashback deals around and LOTS of posts on the forums with people not getting cashback despite following T&C's to the letter, sending bills recorded delivery etc. Basically the deals are too good to be true - the companies would be losing money if everyone claimed. They work on the basis that only something like 10% will claim. In practice, many more try to.

Some people have posted that everything has gone smoothly, but an awful lot are out of pocket, and it's often by hundreds of pounds. Too big a a gamble IMHO.

i have done these cashback claims for years on 3 concurrent contracts, mine my partners and our sons and have had no problems with any cashbacks.

as long as you keep on top of the paperwork its fine.

just got this back from them; 'thank you for your recent enquiry, you will receive a redemption voucher 30 days before you will need to make your claim, after your claim date you have 60 days to return your claim to us.
With your claim form you will need to send a copy of your most recent bill after your claim date for us to be able to process your claim. Once you have processed your first claim you next claim form will be sent with your cheque.

Interested to know what retailer these were through and what the cashback deals were - were they equivalent to free phone and free monthly contract for a year? There are other cashback deals that amount to a reasonable discount which I can understand are viable for the companies selling them, but I'm suspicious of the "completely free" deals

I've just completed an 11 months free contract with Orange via Onstopphonehsop with no problems. Today I've just ordered a Nokia 6300 via mobiles2yourdoor on a 12 months free contract, hopefully it will all go smoothly. These schemes work because people fail to claim their cashbacks. Many of the companies also make it very hard to meet the cashback requirements. Have a look on the mobiles board for lots of info on these sort of deals.
It's my problem, it's my problem
If I feel the need to hide
And it's my problem if I have no friends
And feel I want to die
