Mortgage broker feedback

  • I had experience with AWD 4 years ago. Very slick helpful salesman, assumed all the way that re-mortgaging with them was a done deal from the moment he stepped into my house. He took away documents and held onto them for several months after i'd said i didn't want any of their products. He tried to sell two mortgages two me, pushing them big time on the basis of lower monthly payments but didn't explain the huge fees attached or how the overall amount i was paying back rose by 33%.
I found out only through the key facts document and helped by that and this site i was able to challenge him. I felt that when asked to try a bit harder his interest faded, calls weren't returned and in the end i just wish he'd say, i can't beat the deal your on instead of dragging it all out. Instead it appeared to be an excercise in selling me any mortgage regardless of appropriateness as long as the monthly payments were lower

This is common, large companies working on volume and to monthly budget. I worked for a large corporate erstate agent and they worked this way if you used their sales process! I challanged this with advice and that it was inflexible! I was the black sheep so to speak LOL
