I would focus on the personal implications of potentially what might happen. Rather than the fact that any formal notification would impact a future mortgage application. Rumour mills soon turn fact into fiction.0

If you job is at risk, would you be able to afford the mortgage if you lost your job. Is probably what they mean"It is prudent when shopping for something important, not to limit yourself to Pound land/Estate Agents"
