eBay update:
In the end I sold 3 bundles of baby clothes. The bundle I thought would do well ended at £2.20 which was disappointing. The two other bundles had no bids or watchers right until the last hour or so and then where sold for £7.00 and £4.45. Really happy with this.
I also had an unexpected msg from a buyer on vinted. I had listed a few baby clothes on a while ago and someone has just purchased one of DH’s shirts for £1.50. On vinted the buyer pays postage so not huge amounts but better than sitting in a box in my attic!
The remaining unsold items from eBay I am going to re-bundle to make them more attractive lots and re-list them. I like my items to finish on Sunday evenings so will list them tomorrow night for 5 days.0 -

Randomly two eBay listings that didn’t sell the previous week auto relisted and sold on Sunday. Only a couple of pounds but better than nothing! It’s actually really inspired me to send DH to the attic now to retrieve all the other baby clothes I have stored up there. At the time I had donated a good few items to charity but had kept my favourite/best bits but now I don’t see the point in holding on. Will we have another child? Would it be a boy? Would the clothes even be fashionable by then? Defo going to sell off some more. I feel like the amount of physical stuff we have stored that DS has outgrown is somehow weighing me down! And it’s also creating a really weird pressure about if we’ll have another child or not. I think it’s time to start shifting all the stuff along!0

Quick tally of September grocery spending currently stands at £197. With 12 days left of the month (and very little money left in our joint account) I’m hoping to keep this to an absolute minimum. I’m determined to use up some of our freezer and cupboard stash, but I do struggle with this as DS is 15mnths and needs to have a healthy balance. He’s at a really awkward stage where he has gone off veg and “wet” food cuz as cottage pies etc. The Health visitor says I should continue offering these foods but it is such waste as it means I often have to provide two dinners so he can have a mouthful of the thing he doesn’t want. DS’s sleep is very temperamental so going to bed hungry is not an option. We need a well fed baby to help us all get some sleep.0

Grocery update - £35.18 spent today at Mr T.
In order to keep the spend down I substituted DS’s branded nappies for Mr T’s own. Premium brand cost £12 for 72, Mr T cost £3.50 for 35. I’m very hopeful Mr T’s will do just as good a job and between those and some remaining from my previous pack I should have enough to tide me over until payday.
I also substituted some branded products for own brand items, such as bread and cleaning products so I feel like I have been savvy. I have 4-5 dinners worth of food purchased (depending on portion sizes) and still have items in the freezer to use up. I also have a few lunch options available to use everything up and not be wasteful! DH may think I have gone mad though. I had some cheesy bacon covered wedges from a fancy grocers in town going past their use by date yesterday so I decided to use them up at lunch time, along with the only other thing in our fridge... bacon. DH appeared from his office at lunch time and questioned why we were having cheese and bacon wedges with a side of bacon but I sternly informed him that it was wasteful not to use them and he usually gives off about food that goes OOD in our fridge. He said no more and happily ate up.
In other news, eBay sales have ground to a halt but I have a few items in mind I know I can get rid of so need to get on with photographing and listing!0 -
My wages will shortly hit my account so I am tidying up my sept spends and using the last of the money in my current account to make a cc payment.
(The problem with all the different pots is remembering which ones to take from to pay off the cc so I have to write it here to make sense in my own head.)
I’ve finished the month with £220 in my account, this includes money transferred from eBay sales of DS’s clothes and money transferred from the Present pot.
Im going to use my remaining balance to pay off purchases as follows:
£59 for items bought in next sale
£20 for friends DS’s bday present
£130 for household items
= £209
Once I transfer Octobers £31 to the Christmas savings pot on our joint account it will have enough to cover the Christmas shopping I have done for DS in the Sm*ths toy sale. I’ve bought all his presents now for £120.42 and as I got them on promotion I saved £40!
Other exciting news is that I have managed to stick to the shopping budget and still have £50 left. Tomorrow is shopping day so I’m going to keep it as tight as possible and hopefully not overspend. I’m also really pleased with the Mr T own brand nappies so I’m defo getting those again tomorrow!0 -
