Remortgage or Bank Loan

So our endowment mortgage has matured and we are £8k short on repayment due to the ever decreasing interest rates over the past 25 years!
Should I approach the bank to remortgage the shortfall or enquire about a bank loan?
How do I know which is the best approach and obviously, the cheapest?
Anyone have any thoughts please?
Thanks, Tracey

I doubt you will get a mortgage for less than £10,000 so try a loan, or money transfer credit cards + balance transfers after the intro period is up.0
