Case review and two days until completion

I’m slightly stressed to say the least!!!!!

We’re due to complete on our purchase this Friday after what seems like forever! I’ve just spoken to my solicitors secretary who said the lender is reviewing the case prior to releasing the funds! Is this normal??? What if they withdraw our mortgage this far in?? Our circumstances haven’t changed since we received the mortgage offer! I’m just panicking and worrying now that things will go wrong!

Some lenders will review before releasing the funds.
The only time we have had a problem is with Barclays who did this on the day of completion and then decided they did not have paperwork they should have. I had to get some "head of" from linkedin to help me out. Customers completed on the monday (late!) but everyone did the sensible thing and just knocked it up to experience. Nobody complained or sued for breach of contract etc.

But in 6 years or so as a broker that is the only time I have had a problem that late in the process.

Out of interest what lender is this?
  • It’s with Kensington. I’ve spoken to my FA and he said it’s all normal and they review the file before releasing the funds and completion. My solicitors secretary said it’s normal too but I’m a worrier!
