Hi all,
I was discharged in Aug 2016 and received a letter through the post saying that Cabot Financial have taken on one of the accounts that was included in the bankruptcy. In the letter it stated that i owed them a large sum of money so i'm wondering how this can be possible as I've checked my Credit files and each one says the account is settled and closed.
I have phoned them and given them my BR details and they said they will pass it to their BR team.
Has anyone had anything like this before and can offer any advice please?
Thanks

Yes, don’t phone them, write a letter.
You need to have a clear paper trail in these matters.
They buy debts in the hope something goes wrong and they become collectible again, if it was included in your bankruptcy you have nothing to worry about, ask for £200 compensation for your trouble.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Debt free wannabe, Credit file and ratings, and Bankruptcy and living with it boards. I’ll write a letter asking for an update to see if they’ve cancelled their interest in me.
Are you sure about asking for compensation? How would I ask that in a letter?

Creditors have no remedy against debts included in bankruptcy, they know it, we know it, they are just trying it on.

I’ll ask for some compensation for dragging this up again after being discharged for over 2 years.0
