Should I Keep Old P45s?

I have a selection of P45s dating back quite some years.

In a bid to go paper-free, I'm thinking of getting rid of all but the last one.

Although I guess when the P60 comes along, it doesn't really matter anyway?

Good idea?

Could this not have been included in your other thread about payslips?

I've been asked to provide copies of P45s as proof of employment as part of online background checks, so would suggest you scan them before destroying them - said checks have often covered a period of 6-7 years. A P60 won't necessarily confirm who the past employer was, and leave date.

But really, how much paper and space are you really saving?!? I've got every P45 and P60 from 1995, plus monthly payslips for the last 7-9 years. It's about one A4 ring binder's worth, which is hardly anything - I recycle more paper and card every fortnight from excess packaging and junk mail!
