Awaiting mortgage decision

First time post! Hello everyone!
I am a first time buyer and a single mum. I have an agreement in principle from Skipton (according to my mortgage guy), and my offer accepted on a lovely property.
Constantly googling "how likely will mortgage be approved after decision in principle".... it's driving me crazy.
Is this just the first stage of stress in the house buying process? Ahhhh

Me too and it’s killing me! This will be the death of me. I like to be in control of everything so handing something over like this for someone else to deal with goes against every bone in my body. But I just don’t know enough about this to go it alone, so 🤞🏻 Our broker has this in the bag. He’s very confident he does.0

We've just had our mortgage offer from Skipton; we asked for 17% less than our AIP.
We applied for the mortgage on 24th October.
The valuation took place 9th November.
The mortgage was offered 15th November.
I've already established that it's best just to accept that I don't know what's going on and go with the flow.0 -
It’s the third step.
First step is finding a broker.
Second is agreement in principle.
Third is full application.
Fourth is valuation.
Sixth is offer.

I gave my broker my documents last Wednesday, am still awaiting news on potential lenders/mortgage products and am already being a panicky poo's
Guess I better get used to playing the waiting game for the next month.
p.s. How long is too long to wait before chasing things up along the way?0 -
CJV - it would depend on the complexity of your mortgage needs and the time scales your broker gave you really.
Workload depending, we tend to work on next working day or so for straight forward stuff or a few days for complex cases.0 -

Thanks for that, there is some complexity that has arisen with my case so I will be patient and give them a nudge next week if I have not heard anything.0 -
