Take-away pizza is one of the biggest rip-offs and they are laden with bad calories. here's a simple tip:
1) buy an ALDI large tomato and cheese pizza base (NOT in frozen section)
2) add leftover veggies, ground meats
3) bake for 12-15 minutes on medium heat
A perfect dinner for 2-3 for under GBP 1.50

Even cheaper if you make your own base - mine is rising as I type this.
All you need is some strong flour (bread flour), some yeast, a touch of sugar to get the yeast working, a tiny pinch of salt is optional but it helps the rising I find, a glug of oil and mix. Knead until you have had enough of boring kneading, set it somewhere warm, roll it out and off you go.I was jumping to conclusions and one of them jumped back0 -
AOD my bread machine has a pizza dough setting, and it's used regularly. I can't knead due to arthritic hands unfortunately. I also throw in a spoonful of poppy seeds in the mix.If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0

Mine does too LW but I have never quite got round to trying it. I have arthritis in my ancient paws too and I think I probably will need to start using the machine but a present am using my own energy. I tend to knead a bit until the paws tire. It rises even with a short kneading time.I was jumping to conclusions and one of them jumped back0

I tend to schedule pizza into the meal plan when I reckon I'll need to make a loaf. Reason is, the BM lives on top of the fridge/freezer when not in use, and doing this gets two uses out of it for Mr Wolf only fetching it down once.
Sadly my poorly paws are just too painful and weak to even consider kneading by hand.:(If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0 -
We have a pizza oven which gets used during the good weather ~ not often enough in this wet country
However Im not adverse to buying the Tescos frozen pizza - 3 for £5 - when the kids and grandkids are here. 3 with salad and French fries and coleslaw will easily feed 4 adults and 2 kids0 -
