HSBC pension and my mothers passing
Sashes
I am clueless and any suggestions would be welcome please, My mother who lived with me for the last ten years of her life became poorly very quickly, so much so that within weeks she passed away in her sleep next to me in my bed. She had been diagnosed with a rare inflammatory breast cancer, she passed away very unexpectedly her heart gave in.
This was 2 years ago and through my own mental health problems my marriage breaking down and having an accident stopping me from working, with all this I've only really started looking at her paper work, I got £12 shortly after her funeral from her state pension.
Today I've uncovered some paper work regarding an HSBC pension I wasn't aware she even had that being said she had a private pension from working at the Royal Ordinace Factory but I'm unaware if these 2 would be linked or seperate.
I'm even unaware if this is a private pension or the state one???
It's informing her that HSBC were transferring to reAssure and she has letters that seem to document reference numbers etc... There is a lot of figures and even reading it is difficult so none of this is making sense to me at all.
Please can anyone suggest how to move forward with this, unfortunately I'd not had a chance to talk to my mum about this stuff and didn't think she had any money or pensions she was as far as I knew broke.
I'm baffled and don't know how to move forward so please I'd love some guidance.
Thanks Sarah
