Lloyds TSB Sold Me PPI when I am disabled and dont work

I have had a loan with lloyds tsb, paid it off with another loan with lloyds tsb and did not get my insurance rebate they put it onto my new loan wich I still have. I have the letter from them saying that they have done this.

They also sold me PPI when they knew I did not work as I am registered disabled and have long term health problems, they said I had to have it to get the loan. I feel really angry with them as I could not understand why I neede PPi as it would not cover me.

Sold me PPI with my visa card they said it would insure my items purchased with the card. And also lead to believe that if I did not I would not get the card. (Felt pressured on all counts)

This is the standard practise. The unused portion of the insurance is rebated back and comes off the new loan amount when refinancing.

The PPI would cover you for some aspects including critical illness and life cover, but pre-existing medical conditions would not be included in the critical illness cover, but would be in the life cover. The PPI is always optional.

The PPI would not insure items purchased with the card. It is an optional cover.
Whilst my posts do not constitute financial advice, I am always, without fail, 100% right! :D
  • My son got a loan out with lloyds tsb a couple of years ago (he was just 18 at the time) and he didnt realise that he didnt HAVE to have the ppi. When I found out I went straight up there and was rather annoyed that they hadnt explained it clearly to him. Did kick up a bit of stink lol
We then finished his loan and put it in my name (didnt have to pay so much off) and knocked the ppi on the head. So you definitely dont have to have it on lloydstsb loans.
