prepay gift card

Options
I want to give a prepay gift visa or MasterCard for Christmas. The ones in the shops come with an activation fee on-top of the cash amount. Is there a better way of doing this?

Think they will all have a fee. The ones sold in the supermarkets (unless they have now been updated) also don't have chip and pin facilities instead are swipe and sign which most places now are very reluctant to take. You are probably better to give cash
