Just because it's 'free', it doesn't mean that you should have it done.
We had guys knocking on doors on our estate offering 'free/government grant' CWI a couple of years ago. Ever the sceptics, we just took some leaflets so we could look into it further. However, a neighbours son, a chartered surveyor, told his mum that under no circumstances should she have this done, as it could cause damp problems in the future. That was good enough for us.0
