Gross misconduct allegation issue

There is a quick update. I had a suspension for a week until today and was told yesterday at the fact-finding that someone from ER (employee relations) or HR will call me at reasonable hours to let me know if there will be a disciplinary or drop of the allegations. I got no call so far and they work 9 to 5.
Any ideas what that means?
Thank you
It means they haven't come to a decision yet. Would you rather they rushed it without giving full consideration to the information you have them?0 -

Hi,
Weren't they supposed to let me know at least if my suspension will be extended as tomorrow I am due to go to work? I mean, yesterday they told me they did the fact finding asap because they knew I run out of suspension today and they will let me know today what's going to be decided.0 -
Well you've got two choices. You were suspended until today (Thursday), you haven't heard anything yet so you turn up to work tomorrow (Friday) because your suspension has ended.
OR
you phone them at 9am and ask whether they are expecting to see you at work or not.
Personally, I think I'd turn up, and if they're on the same site as your regular job I'd report to ER / HR and ask for an update before you go to your normal place of work.
But then I don't know how far you have to travel.
What did your initial letter say? did it give an actual date?Signature removed for peace of mind0 -

Yes, I got suspended until 15th November. Tomorrow I am on the rota as an "IN" day (the rota was made weeks ago by me) Now in the suspension letter they said I can talk only with the person who suspended me and it states there that if I have any queries I should get in touch with him. Now he never put on the suspension letter any contact details or anything. I am at loss now.0 -

Sorry, actually it says this:
"We will be in touch by 15th November to advise of status of the fact finding" I had the fact finding yesterday and the person who did it said that by no later than today I should find out if there will be a disciplinary or not.
I think it will go to disciplinary and they posted everything today but they should have informed me as they said.0 -
No it more likely what they posted today will be invite to a disciplinary at later date and informing you your still on suspension. Best to ring them first thing though to make sure, instead waiting for the post, as its likely you won't receive anything till Saturday or even next Monday.0

Means they haven't got time or they have to double check some info or they haven't decided.
Try to calm down I know you feel terrible but your judgement will just be shot to pieces if you cant.0 -

There's an old adage, no news is good news. One interpretation is they've not got enough facts to reach a conclusion, another is they are incompetent, another is they are doting the 'i's and crossing the 't's.
With hindsight it might have been better to call before close of play yesterday but that's gone now. I'd follow savvysue's advice rather than rely on false hope of a letter in the post when you were told you'd be phoned.Originally Posted by shortcrust

I emailed the ER department and the person in charge of my fact finding and they replied saying that they require more time because Sunday there will be some people they need to speak with.0
