Unpaid mortgage

Hi
A friend of mine is in a bad situation. She split up from her partner and he moved out. He has not paid the mortgage for 12 months and now she finds herself in the position of having the house taken off her. She has 3 kids, one which has special needs. Can anyone suggest the best way or the best people to talk to to try and get the situation resolved in some way so she doesn't lose the house??

The mortgage needs to get paid is the bottom line. Has she been making full or part payments?
Try speaking to the council but not sure if they will help financially but they may be able to rehouse them when the bank evicts them.0 -
Is the Mortgage in joint names?
Has she been in contact with the lender?
Need more information to try and offer any advice.0 -
As above, has there been any attempt to make a payment?
If not, why not? Your friend must be able to afford some sort of payment, if not then its inevitable what will happen if no payments are made.
If your friend can make payments, can they catch up on the arrears? If not, can they at least prevent it getting worse? If not, again it is fairly inevitable what till happen.
Going 12 months behind a mortgage is pretty much as bad as it gets.
Personally I have 20 questions, but it will come down to whether or not your friend can pay the mortgage and has chosen not to or whther they genuinely can not afford it. If they can not afford it, your friend needs to oreoare for the worst I would assume. There is Support for Mortgage Interest - but that is just a loan from the government in essence, so would just be delaying the inevitable and transferring who your friend owes money to.I am a Mortgage AdviserYou should note that this site doesn't check my status as a mortgage adviser, so you need to take my word for it.
