Employer revocking contract

Good evening after a bit of advice. My company has gone through a restructure and I am currently on a secondment with a higher salary. I received my new contract which states my salary will be protected for a year by 100% and 50% for the second year. However I have always been told my wage would not be protected so this came as a delightful bonus. However my team leader states it’s a mistake and I will receive a new offer letter. However I have signed and posted this letter back to HR. Can they revoke this or do they have to honour the offer? TIA

If the contract is is contrast to why you have been told previously ‘always’ then yes they can revoke it.0

Yes they can, especially if its a clear and obvious mistake, that contradicts what they stated previously which you accepted at the time back then as what would be the case now.
Even if signed it unlikely come into force, as likely it had a commencement date that hadn't yet passed (just guessing that's the case). Therefore the contract has not come in to force and not binding on you or them.
Either way, short answer is yes they can recind the contract.offered.0 -

Yeah, employers can pretty much change the terms in contracts at anytime they wish. Begs the question, what's the point in them really? This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0
