Principality - Credit card debt

We went through a mortgage app with principality via L&C and principality asked for 2 CC'S to be cleared from the funds of the house sale before going to next house. But we just signed and are exchanging, with these yet to be paid off. When and how will they need to see this cleared if we move in and the mortgage is under way?

We didn't mind paying it using the money but would ideally have liked that money to do household stuff.

  • This is the question for you to ask from London and Country, who are the brokers of yours.
  • 9 times out of 10 a lender won't ask to see confirmation that the cards have been repaid. However the solicitors acting may ask for confirmation that they have been repaid before you complete, as this is a condition of the mortgage offer.

Just clear them with the money from the house sale....if you want to do household stuff then spend on the credit cards, or wait and save up for the stuff. You wouldnt of done anything wrong.
