Hello, I'm after advice on leaving a mortgage.
Basically I want to know If I buy another house on my own and walk out, if/when 1st property is repossessed would they be able to take my new home?
Abusive situation and selling/splitting amicably not an option.
Thanks

Will you get another mortgage while having liability on another needs to be considered. Shortfalls can be claimed from assets you may own. Walking away from a legal contract gets you nowhere.0

You've jumped too far ahead. Odds are you wont get the new mortgage and thus wont get the new home, whilst you are still liable on the old one.
Get a solicitor. You can still split even if not amicable. And you should make a clean financial separation or you'll find all sorts of carp will happen down the line ... and yes if you walk away owing money they can pursue you for other assets you may have.0
