Depends what type of person you are. I've often blagged cheap hotel deals, especially with national and multi-national chains by phoning their booking lines (rather than the hotel direct) and asking what deals they can do. More often than not, you can get an even better price than their last-minute web deals!The smaller the monkey the more it looks like it would kill you at the first given opportunity.
