    from HMRC website

If you do not have an HMRC payslip

    Include a note with:
    • your name, address and phone number
    • your Class 3 National Insurance contributions reference number (or National Insurance number)
    • how much you’re paying
    • the period you’re paying for

Many thanks to the people who understand all this and are capable of explaining it!

My wife's situation is almost exactly the same as the original post... 39 qualifying years, 10 years no conts, current year will be no conts. COPE £40.31 pw.Max pension £148.55. Forecast £134.46 to April 2018.

So we will buy 3 years (16/17, 17/18, 18/19) to get to the Max.

Can the experts explain to me how the COPE is calculated and also how the COPE is applied. I've searched all over but have been unable to find an explanation.

    Hi guys
I am now receiving my pension, i'm getting 654.72, it's not as much as i was expecting, thought more like 690?,
Is it worth a query or are they probably correct, so difficult to contact from here, can't find an email address so it's using a
mobile and usually end up in a queue and lose connection,
Just wondered if you thought it worth the hassle.
    Thanks guys

If this is your first pension payment are you sure that it is for the full 4 weeks?  Mr S's first payment was for something like 3.5 weeks, due to the way the dates of his birthday and payment day fell.  Have you received a letter yet - that will give the annual amount.

I have just logged onto the govt gateway to check my wife state pension.
The opening screen shows state pension at 2034 (when age 67) will be £8797 per year , it says need to contribute one more year NI before 2034 to qualify . It says £168.60 is most can get .
On second page it shows 36 years of full contributions and 15 years to contribute before 2034.

so is that definite then  and she will be entitled to full state pension ?

it also says you were contracted out of part of the state pension (COPE £8.50 per week) - I done understand this bit ?

    cheers

Not received a letter, the post here is unreliable to put it mildly,
I thought the same but I've had a few payments now and that seems to be the amount,
Now I'm receiving the pension the government site doesn't show forecasts anymore,
Not sure what to do, if anyone knows am email address I could contact it might help, I've scoured the site but can't see one, but then I'm  old and senile Hehe.
    Thanks guys

The amount looks about right to me. Looking at the first post in this thread with your pension forecast it looks to me that even with the three years voluntary contributions you would still be short, by a few pounds, of the full new state pension.
You are receiving £163.68 per week which seems about right to me. What weekly amount did you expect to get?
