We had one via an offset mortgage.

It was one of the most convenient, flexible and versatile financial instruments we could have in our toolbox.

When we delayed paying off capital, it helped us deal with difficult family circumstances. No regrets whatsoever.

Okay now we've capital to pay off, but we've switched to repayment to deal with that.

In a place like London where property prices often seem to rise faster than an ejector seat in a rocket, it's not such a mad decision.

There is always one, isn't there. I never once said I didn't know what an interest only mortgage was, and that I didn't know what i was getting into. There is no need to 'presume' and to decide people are daft. I was asking about the adverts that offer compensation for miss-sold interest only mortgages

So your saying you are just trying it on for some "free" money.

This is exactly what is wrong with our industry and the country as a whole.

Perhaps something wrong with the people considering it, the industry is fine with the more tighter regulations
