Uses for leftover bagged salad

Hi folks
I've just seen an article in the Guardian saying you can make soup out of leftover bagged (or otherwise) salad that's gone limp.
Anyone tried this and what else did you put in to make it work?
Nigella has a recipe for lettuce and lovage soup so there must be something in it. But I'm skeptical that past-its-best salad has any uses beyond the composter.
Your thoughts please...

Lettuce soup is rather delicious and more substantial than you'd think - but I don't think it would work well once the bagged salad had become slimy...0

Hi skint_minx,
There's a recipe for lettuce soup and some other ideas for lettuce in this older thread:
Can I do anything else with lettuce other than salad?
Also Aussie, the Old Style Queen of lettuce, has posted a recipe here
